About Vincent Kiwi

Vincent Kiwi is a female fuzzy kiwi vine that produces excellent tasting, medium sized fuzzy kiwis! ‘Vincent’ & ‘Tomuri’ make an excellent pairing in low chill areas & perform well up to zone 7

Fuzzy kiwis have fuzzy brown skin and green or yellow flesh. They are the typical kiwi you can find at any supermarket. In the Pacific Northwest fruit usually do not ripen on the vine. Leave on the vine as long as possible, for the fruit to be physiologically ready to ripen off the vine. As with hardy kiwis, black seeds in large, fuzzy kiwifruit indicate ripeness, usually occurring around early November. But the time of ripening of these kiwis varies from year to year.

Fuzzy kiwis will tolerate light frost, but we recommend harvesting them before a hard freeze occurs. Store and ripen fuzzy kiwis the same way as with hardy kiwis—in the refrigerator or cold garage. Fuzzy kiwis will keep in a cold environment much longer than the smaller hardy kiwis – for about four to six months, depending on the temperature.
